TROOP MEETING MONDAY
We will have a troop meeting Monday night. In-Person at MUMC. 6:30pm-8:00pm.
We'll be planning for our campout. Gear, Menu etc. Reminder to Sign up for camp before Tomorrow!
We'll also be meeting with the AoL Den to get them acquainted with how the troop works and learning some fun stuff.

Masks are still required. Despite the recent change, Troop 1 will continue to require masks.
FUNDRAISING UPDATE
Thanks to everybody who participated in our Simpls Soup Fundraiser. The troop netted $1100. It was certainly the most delicious fundraiser I've participated in. We'll be doing another one this fall in place of the Pancake breakfast.
The Philmont Crew sale was also very successful yesterday. Thanks to all who participated and special thanks to the Rozaitis/Wempner family for hosting and to Hillary for the Facebook event!
CAMPING
We'll be camping! This is a purposeful Back-to-the-Woods / "program-free" campout (other than the Philmont crew) but will likely have some advancement opportunities. Scouts should have their Scout handbook. The Philmont Crew will be backpacking all day on Saturday, simulating a backpacking trip.
•HEALTH FORMS - All participants must have a completed BSA Health Form part A & B to participate.
•PACKING - If you're not sure what to pack for a weekend campout, check the Scout Handbook. Also here's a list from Scout's Life Magazine.
Philmont crew: should pack as they will for SHT & Philmont.
• COST - Scouts pay $10 for food. Menus to be planned by patrol(s)/crew on Monday, May 10.
• PATROL & TROOP GEAR - Prepped and taken from shed on Monday, May 10 - Dutch Oven(s), Patrol Box(es), tents, etc.
CAMPING DURING COVID-19 • TROOP 1 REQUIREMENTS
1 - All participants must have a negative Covid-19 test after May 7 (within 7 days of departure), and anybody experiencing any cold-like or Covid-19 symptoms will be asked to not participate. I recommend the airport - super fast saliva test and super fast (next day) results. Be prepared to share results on Friday, May 14.
2- Any Scout sent home from school/sports due to direct exposure should follow the 7-day quarantine rule by MDH unless the direct exposure is within your household. Then follow the 14-day rule. Obviously, participating in this campout cannot happen within the quarantine period.
3- Despite the recent change in MN requirements, Troop 1 will continue to require masks.
4- Scouts will tent alone (mask-free) or with a family member.
5- Adults will drive their own scout to camp. We will NOT meet at MUMC on Friday.
Scouts should meet at Wild River Group Site #7 at about 7:30pm. It is about a 1:10 drive from MPLS.
FROM THE ADVANCEMENT COMMITTEE
Scouts requesting a Board of Review need to do this in this order:
1. Complete all requirements for rank advancement AND have them signed off in your Scout Handbook AND enter them or have them entered into ScoutBook. For the time being, because of Covid and not having in-person meetings for a long time, a copy of your ScoutBook Advancement Report is okay if your Handbook isn't current.2. When No. 1 is all done, schedule a Scoutmaster Conference with Mr. Needleman. Mr. Needleman will then let the Advancement Committee know that you're ready for a Board of Review.
