3 March 2020

Sign-Ups & Service Projects
Many things to sign up for this month.

FRIDAY, 6 MARCH
Buck Hill Overnight
This is a Metro Lakes District / Northern Star Council event, not a troop event - bring a parent. I will not be attending.

SUNDAY, 8 March, 13:00 – 15:00
Conservation-based Service Project
Join Ruth Wikoff-Jones for the first Love Your Trail : Trash the Trash cleanup hike!

You’ll be focusing on the West River Road Parkway between Lake Street East and 42nd Street East.

This is a multi-use, paved trail that follows the Mississippi River between Minneapolis and St. Paul. It’s mostly flat and considered an “easy” level. Picking up trash along the trail keeps the junk from making it down the bluff and into the river.

Where We Start: Meet at the intersection of West River Road and 42nd Street

Where We End: At the Lake Street / Marshall Avenue bridge near the river and Dunn Bros Coffee (post-cleanup beverages anyone?)

What to Bring:
  • Work gloves
  • USED plastic bags (think bread, large chip or snack, or shopping bags)
  • A water bottle
  • Appropriate clothing for the weather
  • Your generous spirit

It's important to meet with the Philmont Crew and Families. I'd like to propose a meeting after the Court of Honor. Monday, 23 March 7:30-8:15. If we can't all make it, let's find a time to meet in early April. LMK if you have a conflict and won't be there.

If you're having second thoughts, are realize you won't be able to participate, we have three scouts waiting as alternates, let me know ASAP. The troop has already made a $100 deposit per participant. If these Scouts would like to go, we can try and form a second crew if we can get advisors, or we can get them set up with the Northern Star Council's contingent group. Alternates are welcome to attend the meeting but it's not required at this point.

Many Point • Summer Camp-
Week 8 • Aug 9-Aug 15
Program Sign-Up

Many Point runs Sunday to Saturday, a bit different than Tomahawk. That's not all that's different. Northern Star Council has worked hard to ensure these summer camps are unique.

We'll be staying at Two Harbors campsite in Voyageur Sub-Camp. Different than summers at Tomahawk when we ate in the dining hall, we'll be cooking as patrols, and preparing all of our meals at our campsite.
