Happy President's Day weekend, Scouts! A friendly reminder that
snow offers opportunity for service: Shoveling for your neighbors
counts as service hours!
Monday February 17: Troop meeting. We usually do not meet when there is no school but Monday is our scheduled Order of the Arrow election night. We need at least half the troop present to hold the election. Please attend if you can.
Order of the Arrow is the national Scout honor society, focused on cheerful service to others. Eligible scouts must be first class with at least 15 nights camping in the past two years. We currently have two scouts eligible.
Upcoming Camps: Your Patrol Leaders Council has planned
camps for March and April. Please register to attend! You can't
have "Scouting" without "outing"!
March 7-9: Cooking Camp @ Phillippo. Troop 1 will camp as patrols in the Gwin cabins. Scouts will work on camp cooking using patrol boxes, camp stoves, Dutch ovens, etc. Campers will be able to start/continue Cooking merit badge or work on cooking requirements for 1st Class.
April 11-13, 2025: Back to the Woods Camp @ Stearns. This is an intentionally unstructured camp weekend. Activity plans and meal planning is up to the Scouts - either activities by patrol, or as a group. Scouts should plan to cook outdoors and sleep in tents. We will have Deckenbach shelter available but this is a single-room cabin with no amenities.
