PLC Meeting • 6:30-8:00 • MUMC
The PLC will be planning and preparing for our next several troop meetings as we move through February, Snow Base, and into our RAD Zoo trip in March. Quartermasters and the remainder of the troop will NOT need to be meeting. Future PLC dates will include a quartermasters meeting.

Troop Committee will also be meeting. Feel free to attend if you want to learn more about how troop 1 works or how you can help.

Weekend Review: Lots Success on the Hill
PC: Hillary Oppmann
Lots of scouts and adults shredded the snow. Several fell; all got up.  9 scouts finished Snow Sports Merit Badge.
We ate super-well, thanks to Mr. Hoffman for his culinary prowess and to Amie Jones for helping prep dinner back at camp.

It was great to host the AoL scouts aka. Electric Llamas. We shared a lot of quality time and our scouts did a nice job mentoring. They'll be a great addition to the troop. We'll invite them again to the RAD zoo. With that, we had lots of new Troop 1 adults and soon-to-be-new-to-Troop 1 adults at camp. Thanks to all.

RAD Zoo
We'll be attending an overnighter at the  Reptile and Amphibian Discovery Zoo in Owatonna on Friday night, March 20- Saturday Morning March 21. We will be visiting their new location in the Owatonna outlet mall. They will have just moved in so we'll be one of the first groups they host in their new space.

Many Scouts have been working on Reptil and Amphibian Study MB. Last year we hosted a counselor before our trip and many scouts have been caring for reptiles or studying them over the past year. If you're interested in completing the Merit Badge,
We may be able to cover many requirements at the RAD Zoo.

SUMMER PLANNING
Attending Summer Camp is a highlight of summer for most scouts. This year we'll be up north in Pondsford, MN near the Mississippi Headwaters at Camp Many Point. We like as much of the troop to attend Summer Camp as possible. Not only is it a great time to be with friends doing things scouts do, but it's also a great adventure and a fantastic opportunity for advancement. Younger scouts will work on First Class adventure and older scouts will work on a variety of Merit Badges. Cooking is done at our campsite by patrol. We haven't been to Many Point in several years and are excited to go back. Please mark your calendars now.
Also, we should know the dates of the SHT trip before Winter Break.

Summer Camp - August 9-15, Camp Many Point

We will have a Sign-Up ASAP, please keep your eyes open.

Superior Hiking Trail - 27 June 2020 - Weds 1- July or Thursday, 2 July 2020

(there could be a second or third crew that decides to go another time, depending on adult availability).

BWCA -  We're not going as a troop this year but permits are open if you're going to plan a DIY family trip.
If you're looking for an outfitter, I can't recommend North Country Canoe Outfitters highly enough.

Scoutmaster Minute • Trust
When you throw babies in the air, they laugh because they know you will catch them.
That’s TRUST. A Scout is Trust-worthy. When people see you in uniform or hear that you're a Scout, they don't know everything that entails, but they know some things. They know you're honest and they can trust in you.
